Major project at Bayer Leverkusen–Currenta
One of the current major projects of Huning Umwelttechnik is the measure, being implemented at the plant Bayer Leverkusen. There eight to ten chamber filter presses are replaced by three semi-mobile centrifuges made by Huning. This long-term test at the Bayer subsidiary Currenta is to show that there will be an economic alternative to chamber filter presses in the future. In this project, particular attention is paid to the throughput rates, to the discharge dry matter content and to the polymer consumption.
Much asked for in England: Overhead loading containers
Within one year, the Huning overhead loading container has been sold in England already five times. The system has been purchased by the wastewater treatment association Northumbrian Water in the north-east of England. Before that, the customer had used roll-off containers with slewable conveyor belt which required much more maintenance. Due to several advantages the client decided in favour of the larger overhead loading container. The system is closed, thus odourless, the personnel expenditures are lower, it is almost self-sufficient in its operation and has got a higher load capacity. The container allows to load a volume of 60 instead of 15 cubic meters as before - which leads to a reduction of transportation costs. Northumbrian is convinced of the new system and will have a return on this investment already after a few years.
