This mode of operation is recommended for waterways which have a clear aqueous phase above the sludge layer and which allow a reduction of the water level. In this case we can pump off water at short notice and create stockpiles of the accessible sludge layer for natural dehydration. Special equipment like swamp track dozers and long-arm dredgers allow the shifting of the sludge quantities to support solar drying.
